Back in September, I mentioned plans I had for this blog, whereby I shall stop posting to this blog and switch to a newsletter service instead. I aim to send out a regular monthly newsletter, delivered straight to your inbox. (I know some of you subscribe via the WordPress subscribe feature, but a private email list has some other advantages.)

Many of you know that I write the Business of Writing column in Writing Magazine, and I work several months ahead for that (I’m currently working on the May 2021 feature). Sometimes I’ve wanted to share with you some quotes other writers have given me before the article is published, but I don’t feel it’s right to do so beforehand on the blog. And when I get quotes from writers, there isn’t always space to use them all in the article. So, I plan on sharing these ‘cut bits’ with you directly, rather than publicly on the blog.

By signing up, the Business of Writing Newsletter will give you:

  • step-by-step guides,
    • publishing news and advice,
    • exclusive access to quotes and advice not shared in my Business of Writing articles,
    • advice on the business of being a writer.

As a thank you to signing up, once you’ve confirmed your sign-up (as per GDPR regulations) you’ll receive a separate link to download your FREE digital copy of The Business of Writing — Volume 3. Recently published, it contains the latest batch of 25 articles first published in Writing Magazine. (It’s available in ePub, Mobi and pdf formats.)

I look forward to sending you my first newsletter in 2021.

I wish you all a merry and safe Christmas, and let’s hope, wherever you are in the world, that 2021 is a safer and better year for everyone.

Merry Christmas!
